Hi,

I'm looking at repalcing the P2 headlights with crystals.

All the ones that appear in the for sale section seem to have broken brackets, might be a stupid question but, don't you need all the fittings to be there for them to be secure?

If you can get away with some missing, which ones are essential?

You could put the lenses and internals in your housing with undamaged brackets

The normal broken ones are the bottom wing mounts. TBH these generally do nothing once you've secured with the other two in situ to slam panel. Yes they may offer a little addional pull underneath but it's negligible.

I sold a set with only the top mounts in tact and a pile of plastic to superglue the inner grille mounts back together. They looked fine once fitted by buyer. Not sure whether he actually glued the bits in the end so they may have been held in by top mounts.

If you have the brackets stick 'em on with epoxy putty, it'll strengthen and repair them.

Better off with methacrylate.

As above it's very common for the flimsy bottom mount to drop off. They will survive without it but very easy to repair if they at least have the plastic part.

Thanks.

So I can fit the lenses into my housing or not worry about one or two broken brackets.

Any advantages of Valeo over non-OE unit?
