I'm heading to some breakers yards tomorrow (sat)
afternoon, and I'm wondering what part no the '6 catalytic converter is? and anything else I should look at/check to make sure it is the right part? Cheers.

AFAIK if it's not on a GTI-6 then it's not the right cat.

barring the phase 1xsara VTS, and the Rallye you wont find one on any other vehicle to fit straight on.

unless you're in minlnd Europe or south America where they have the ZX Dakar.

a good shake will give you some idea of condition but its no guaranty its going to work for your mot.

none for sale on here or ebay? the breakers round my way either take them out for the scrap metal or charge the earth for them.

I would go for a decat, but thats part of the future upgrades. Its only a temporary fix. i've missed the bargain's on here and e-bay. I.m up there to look for some more bits other than just the cat. I think I am starting to get major upgrade addiction after viewing everyone's projects Smile Big grin
