i've bought some front discs from fletch that are abit rusted, they should clear up fine with abit of use but I was planning on fitting new pads at the same time, probably a silly question but will it be fine clearing the rust with brand new pads?

If it's heavy rust I'd clean them off first with a bit of emery cloth firstYes

You'd be fine using the pads to clean them up but personally I'd clean them as I originally postedSmile

Since you haven't fitted them to the car yet, you may as well give them a quick scrub first. Will take you 2 minutes. Any excess left on the disc will soon go after a few miles on the new pads.
