i lowered my 6 on a set of eibach springs a few months back, at first i loved it and thought it made such a differnce, recently my girlfriend has brought a 6 and it handles very nicely. lowered 60mm on gmax springs and bilstein b6's, i love its stance and am impressed with the handling. its got to the time where i desperatly need to spend some money on mine, as i will be going all out on this the whole suspension will be up graded. im not to keen on the gmax springs any other options? i was told about chassis dynamics or faulkner??? they will be matched to billy b8's, new top mounts and bearings, roller bearing bushes, uprated lower drop links, and top and bottom strut braces. i also have a fully rebuilt rear beam with hybrid arb and solid rear mounts. does this all sound ok advice needed. thanks tom________________________________________ ph3 gti-6 china blue- mint conditionph2 gti-6 nile blue K.I.A dec 2010 |

B8's are very good dampers for the 306. They are actually just a short rod version of the B6 damper (the B6 and B8 rear damper are the same part.)I've run them on Eibach springs with 21mm torsion bars and found this to be an excellent setup. I've not gone any lower than this though, as I liked this setup very much. One of the most important things for the feel and balance of the car is that the change in spring rate is matched at the rear which is something most people don't bother with. ________________________________________ Rich |

It deffinatly has to be lower than it is now. 30 mm just isn't enough for me. I want it to handle like its on rails. Since being in my mrs I hate mine. Its not rubbish but its nothing in comparison. I get way to much body roll________________________________________ ph3 gti-6 china blue- mint conditionph2 gti-6 nile blue K.I.A dec 2010 |

You are confusing handling with grip. They are different.I agree with you there Rich, but a huge amount depends on the quality and control of the rear dampers as well. Made by far the most obvious handling difference on mine when I was buggering about with it. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

So when I get my b8 rears they are bassically the same as b6 ones? It will be a full rebuild anything that needs doing will get done as it needs the money spent on it. Following that the brakes and then should be ready for a new set of shoes, fingers crossed when all done it should handle very well. Unless I'm missing something ________________________________________ ph3 gti-6 china blue- mint conditionph2 gti-6 nile blue K.I.A dec 2010 |
