i have just bought a '97 Blaze 6, it has been fitted
with Baker BM engine/gearbox mountings. when i start
and drive the car, there is ALOT of vibration through the car, almost as if the exhaust was rattling off the subframe. there is barely ANY engine movement, so i'm assuming the mounts are causing the problem.
Also when i reverse and push the clutch in it will jump out of gear, the clutch however is on its last legs.

Has anyone on here experienced these problems when uprating the mounts? and how can i stop/reduce vibration without going back to OE rubbers?

Any help muchly appreciated, Cheers.

you don't know the half of it

the rubber absorbs the vibration. making it solid or much harder rubber transfers the vibration to the shell. you either live with it or go back to normal

back to normal it is then, i mean french electrics arent the greatest at the best of times,so with all this vibration they are bound to fuk up sooner or later.

I also noticed there is a piece of steel bar been fitted to the top mount, i remember doing this to my S16 couple years back, just that alone made a hell of difference to gear change if i remember correctly

Whats the problem?...lol

I've got a full set of baker mounts on my 6 and its a daily driver. Its a little louder agree'd but you'll soon live with it.

Much better than standard mounts imo Smile

Edit: The little pikey boy who drove my car the other week at the tyre place thought my engine was nackard because of the vibration....I just gave him a vacant look and said "ok mate....LOL "

Should never be too bad, Even on 205's the vibration is only on tick over so when on the move you would never know.
I'd check they have all been fitted correctly

Yes they are definately fitted properly and yes most vibration is at tickover but the whole dash vibrates badly. I agree they are a big improvement over OE jelly ones, but the resonance is near unbearable

I bought an engine mount from BBM a while back, now that I look at it the two rubber chicks are separate with threads on the back. Have I been sent the wrong mount???
