They are the same family as the 406 Coupe/Alfa GTV/Fiat Coupe.

But the mounting lugs are different to the 406 ones, more like the Alfas iirc so you may have trouble making them fit.

yup... lug mounted but bolt centre dim are diff on all above.

think they were made for 324mm/28mm discs so the pad sweep aint ideal unless you hit that diam.

has a smaller centre bore easily machined out.. but yeh it runs a disc offset of about 53mmYes So could cause a clearance issue with the BJ..

I had 300mm focus ST discs on with no issues with custom brackets on cupra R calipersYes

ST170 discs that would be?

Are they not too thin at 24mm?

Mmmmm how did they work out?

Can have the centre bore machined out no problems and making brackets to suit renaultsports should be easy.

Just use the 406 V6 coupe discs with the renaultsports if you dont want to get ash's kit Yes

I was told they weren't much cop in the last thread where I asked about them due to the vane design?

Plus nobody has a drawing to make up some adaptors from, so I will need to have that done/design some anyway, so using a different disc is no trouble given that it will almost bolt straight on anyway with minor alteration.

The ST170 discs wouldnt have a better vane design i dont think No Im not sure on the science behind it but you will need to be getting very serious about your brake setup to start taking vane design into consideration, if your at that point then it might be best to look at new setups from the big players like AP.

The vane design wasn't in question, it was the vane interaction with the 306.

velar wrote:
I would avoid the 406 305mm discs.

I ran them on a few 406 track coupes(inc an ex btcc shell) and they overheat within a few laps( common on the 406 when tracked).
I replaced them with Focus RS discs and the overheating issue went away.
I think that due to the low offset, the root of the cooling vains are restricted(only about 5mm gap) and this prevents decent airflow through the discs.
The offset is also wrong for the 306 hub.

Not sure why Rich changed setups, maybe he found the same.

I see, that might be the case on track but it could have possibly been cheap discs or something like that too. Im pretty sure the RS discs cannot be fitted to the 306, the V6 offset is by no means perfect but it can be fitted Smile

RS discs hit the balljoint, i'm sure it was lotek did the checks. ST170 discs are a different profile though iirc (thinner by 4mm and narrower by 8mm) as used with a single piston sliding caliper. Smile

The Focus RS disc is 52.7mm tall and 28mm thick.

The Focus ST 170 is 44.5mm tall and 24mm thick.

By comparison the GTI-6 disc is 27.2mm tall and 22mm thick.

These can be made to fit a 306 by using a 20mm or 25mm spacer inside the Focus RS disc, and then running Ford ET 32 or ET 38 wheels
