Omex said try using different USB ports which I did still no luck.
What leads have you been using was considering a RS232 to RS232 lead?
Any comments or suggestions please!

You have got a permanent 12 volt feed coming in on the red wire when the ignition is in the run position have'nt you? If you pick a wrong wire to use as your live feed it can be live when you turn the ignition to the first position but then go when you turn the key further to the crank position.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. If it says its offline its probably not getting power. I'd re-check that supply if Im were you. By the way I have that map now if you still need it?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area. Fuel pump primes when ignition is turned on and also runs when cranking, plus the rev counter jumps so Omex has got power, the problem seems to be the lead or the lap top!Ideally need a lap top with a serial port but these are hard to find, so using the usb port, I have searched online and found loads of people having problems but no real way round it other than finding a old lap top with a serial port? any one have any ideas? anyone done it using the usb port? Computer knows the ECU is connected and the lead is in but it says ECU is always offline. ________________________________________ Carl Chambersemail; pugnacious.peugeot@yahoo.co.uk . Whats not to understand about a PCIMA card with a RS232 port on, as Mabgti's said USB ones are ****________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

I disagree with that, I use a USB to serial converter almost everyday to configure routers. They work fine never had a problem. Laptops with serial ports on are a dying breed |

The Prolific chip'd USB>Serial converters are pretty reliable, I use those all the time with no problems.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Laptops with serial ports on are a dying breed chris.. usb to serial convertors use their own drivers which dont allow ECU upload baud rates... some can get away with it but most dont.. obviously a PCMCIA card convertor does away with drivers as it has designated port adresses so is ideal if you have one ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6NV Motorsport Automotive Performance Tuning 0121 448 7515 ECU Remapping/ DPF removal VAG/BMW Diag and Option Coding Peugeot Planet ECU coding/transponder programming etc www.nvmotorsport.com Facebook Page Project S6 |

Same here?It should install as a normal comm port just running through the driver as a translator program, so if you go to comm settings you can alter as per normal. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. There are two main chips for the USB to RS232 adapters: Prolific and FTDI.In my experience most cheap dongles have Prolific chip and do not work properly. On the other hand, FTDI works every single time. ________________________________________ Cherry Red Rallye Project threadWhiteBMW M140i |
