I've had my Rallye for three weeks now and am pretty happy with it. The only thing that is letting it down is that doesn't handle or feel as nice to drive as my old d turbo hdi and ph1 xsi. Some of that is down to the 16ich wheels and 45 profile tyres which aren't for me, but it is also sitting very high indeed.

As you can seee from the pics below it used to be mega high at the front on genuine peugeot standard springs (exactly 25mm higher from wheel centre to arch than my standard HDI). All of the suspension parts were replaced in 2007, and i have found a pic of the car in 2006 appearing to sit lower (maybe its just the cyclones or a bit of sag that makes it look more normal).

Thinking it must be the springs at fault I have fitted some 2nd hand eibach springs and these have dropped it by around 25mm but as it was already 25mm too high this has now dropped it to about standard height.

So, the springs are not at fault - Any ideas what could be causing my height issues (considering everything was replaced three years ago). Has anyone else had similar issues with a high riding 6/rallye?

Ideally I want a 25mm drop from standard height, so given the above this would mean that i would have to put some 50mm springs on. I don't really want to just bung on another set of springs as there must be something else at fault??

first pic - current height after fitting eibachs:

Rallyes do tend to sit quite high as standard, mine did when I bought it. The rear of yours does seem exceessively high though, especially considering you're on 16's, but tyre profile also makes a big difference.

If I were you, I'd look at a maximum 40mm drop all round, which will look great even on 15's and won't compromise the handling.

The rear looks fine.

The front looks like it's running Bilstein B4 dampers which do sit a little higher than standard Peugeot dampers.

Were the springs replaced too? If so check the proper Rallye springs have been used and not GTi-6 ones.

Good spot mate - its on black Bilstein dampers up front - assume that they are B4's then.

The springs before were pug ones with the spray marks on - part number 5002P7 according to the invoice from 2007 I have. Don't Rallye's and 6's have the same springs.

They're the right springs so no need to worry there.

The GTi-6 and Rallye do use different springs. See here for a previous discussion on this.

Friendly word of warning... if its not covered up, make sure its blocked in when your out and overnight. I Had one on the drive a couple of years back in a similar state and a pikey scrap man helped himself while I was at work! Was complete minus the engine and the rest of the parts were inside the car Angry
