I've got blow in the rear of my exhaust so want to get that sorted, but also a sussed out the metallic rattle sound is coming from the front section of my exhaust (under the driver side door area) - not really sure whats causing it at the moment.

I was thinking of just getting a complete custom system from Power and Performance... has anyone got better ideas / suggestions?

The rattle may be the heat sheild contacting the exhaust.

The main brands people tend to go for are Longlife, Magnex, Powerflow and Scorpion. All very good. Jetex is another popular brand and they do off the shelf systems. Hayward & Scott if you have a lot of money Wink

For a new stainless steel cat back you will be looking at £300 - £350 depending where you go. I think it's about £250-280 for the Jetex. Double that for a H&S system.

Yes, either move the exhaust away from it, bend the shield out of the way or replace a nut that has dropped off.

The rattle could be the spring bolts that connect the cat to manifold, they went on mine and it sounded like a bag of spanners when revved.

Yeah thats what mine sounds like!! Sounds sh*te! I'll get it checked out anyway then have a look at some options.

Am I best to just look at a cat back....? I want something thats quiet, will not effect MOT emissions or performance negtively. i.e. dont want a 4-inch cherry bomb!!

your best bet is a jettex if you want better performance but not a lot of noise.

I had the same issue with my diablo6, the ring gasket between the downpipe and manifold was warn down to nothing made a hell of a rattle when rev'd.

New gasket for a few quid and sorted Big grin

In the end just got a new clamp and sealed with exhaust paste, temporarily sorted the blow at the back but long term I reckon I'm gonna go for an aftermarket system. I keep hearing bout jetex, which is sounding like a winner. In terms of decat systems/cat back is there any advantage of having a decat system? Or is it best to keep the standard cat and get a cat back system? Maybe I should use the search button lol
