Hi all,
I had disconnected my battery for about 5 mins (to wire up my sub without conducting 330amps across my heart!) and have now reconnected it.

However now, whenever I open a door, boot or start the car (yeah it starts and drives :s ) the hazards flash like mad for about 25-30 seconds, then stop. The headlights don't flash.

Theres no sound from the car when this happens, no siren or anything.Blink

Both my infrared remote key fobs are f*cked, the batt's are dead and the buttons/switches are scrap.

I can use the car, its just annoyin meAngry.

Any ideas to stop this?

Its a Ph2.5 gti6, if this helps.

Any advice/info much appriciated

The alarm sets by default when you reconnect the battery (and your siren is clearly knackered which is why it's not making a noise).

Basically, lock it all up and the alarm'll settle down (and re-arm itself).

If you then open the car, it'll start flashing as you've described. You've then got 30 seconds to put the key in the ignition (to the accessory position) and push the black ultrasonics button on the steering column shroud.

That'll disarm the alarm completely. It won't then re-arm unless you had a fob that worked, or you disconnect the battery again.

Thumbs up
