I've been struggling for a while on how to get the internal fan to switch off totally in the GTi.

I have found that alot of european cars run the fan quetly when the accessory is switched on with the key in the ignition barrel.
This can be a little noisy and can also run the battery flat sooner rather than later.

In many/most cases I have found that this is simply not required and in my case, when it comes to car audio sound quality competition judging, it's down right annoying and intrusive.

I have found a clean and neat way of changing this so that the fan only comes on when the key is in the on position that does not ruin the fan motor mosfets.

I have pics and can post up a 'how to'.
Anyone keen on it?

never bothered me, there must be a reason for it as it only happens on A/C cars IIRC.

I think it's something to do with condensation. If the fan isn't blowing all the time you'll end up with mould and then it'll stink!
