Liking that, think I'll adopt it as my own Wink

Cheers guys, glad it's entertaining if entirely technically incompetent.

Awesome thread.

As a lover of the 'Just get the fcuk on with it' school of thinking I have total respect for the approach you've taken.

Fair play and keep going. Smile

Cheers buddy, sadly it's just too plain miserable out there to do too much at the moment.

Bring on Spring...

What's the latest developments then? One of your early threads was about rebuilding engines - have not had any ideas about that recently? Would have thought that'd be the sort of ambitious challenge you'd be interested in trying!?!?

Oh mate I wish. I'm currently in some crappy Travelodge-style accomodation on a 5-day residential SQL Server course. I would literally give anything to be under a car covered in shit right now.

I should have some updates next week, I've got some roller bearings on order from Rich_w Yes

I'm assumilating a few things to get fitted to the car as soon as the weather's a bit better, so should pick up soonish Smile

Heh, that's actually my next plan. I was putting off removing the dash until the end of the track season, then haven't had time since.

However now my heater matrix has just failed so the dash needs removing. Your one will be going back in Smile

i hope you will be making adequate use of your spare time getting rid of lots of meaningless parts from the heating system when you remove the matrix?

Insert big smiley face here.

(Incidentally I first typed "slimey face" by accident, not sure what my brain was thinking there.)

Yes, I'll be ripping it all out and looking at better ways to do it. If a job's worth doing Big grin

Personally I'd want to keep it. I remember pulling the slider off my mates 106 Rallye on the Nurburgring. We couldn't see a f*cking thing so had to pull off the track when it really steamed up.

I'm gonna have a look and see what's doable, if I can keep the heater matrix and cut down on the fan crap I'll do that, I'd rather have a heater if I can.

Whatever it is, rest assured it'll be bodge central.

just read this from start to finish, awesome thread. made me laugh when you said about finding £1.52 under the carpets. when i stripped out my old nile i found over £40 in the center console where the air bag connections all go. keep up the good work.

12v dash heaters don't really work. i put one in my 205 after i removed all the heating system. its a great idea but only de-mists about a 4" round patch infront of the heater.

window open about 6" de-mists better LOL

I was out in my track car earlier and noticed the centre console and glove box seem to have lots of copper coins in them, with the occasional 5p! Hyper LOL

EDIT: Thanks for the input ash, saved me ripping my heater matrix etc out and wasting £50 odd on them electric heaters Thumbs up
