Under light accelaration there is a engine speed knocking ( sounds a bit like big ends, but it is not always there.)More noticable at low revs, could this be injector related?? on a Standard engine with no modifications ________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

If it's knocking most likely to be bottom end, drain oil, remove the sump and have a look for loads of metal________________________________________ Seat Leon Cupra FR / 306 GTI6 / Breaking 205 GTI6 / Caterham 7 / Mercedes Sprinter 311CDI LWB Sold: Fisher Fury - Laguna DCI Estate - P1 306 XSI - E30 BMW 325i Baur Convertible - Daihatsu Fourtack - Suzuki GSXR600 - 205 Rallye |

As Sean says, get the sump off, take off some bearing caps and have a looksee. ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. could be a valve, but noise does not seam to be comming from the top of the engine. It is actually louder inside the car, than with a stethascope on the block, and you can sort of feal it on the pedals!! ________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

steps I'd take then,Drain the oil looking for bits of metal hopefully wont find any! if so take the sump off but get it high enough off the floor to give you plenty of room! it may just be cheaper for an engine swap off someone reliable on here... it doesn't sound cheap what ever it is ________________________________________ Proud Member of the ASTOR Owners Club |
