Unless you want to start spending thousands just leave it as is (our engines aren't cheap to get much additional power out of), maybe tweaking the suspension.

A remap for our cars is around £400. This means that a set of PT80s that can give you 10-20bhp will cost you the best part of £700 (not including fitting)

The 306 is a drivers car, the way to make to faster is by improving the roadholding with brakes and suspension, and improve your driving skills to match.

Or 5k on a supercharger LOL

Yeah, get one, then, when you take it off and bin it, your car'll feel faster!

suspension and handling is already improved, its decked on Koni (i think) set up with upper strut brace, so holds nice round corners and no body roll.

It's tricky to get much improvement from small changes, but lighter parts in the engine which can be bought from some forum members do help. Rich W does a lightened flywheel and lower idle wheel

Unless you start spending the best part of £2k plus you won't see any noticeable improvements over standard.

The only routes you can go are with things like a s/c or turbo charger kit, throttle boddies and cams. Other componants such as a lightened flywheel, skimmed head, decat, etc, won't do much on their own, you would have to conbine them with some of the above modifications and a remap to see considerable power increases.

A remap on it's own with your above mods won't do a thing (may get slightly better fuel consumption). You may as well throw £400 out the window.

Im no expert, but advancing the exhaust cam on mine made a noticable difference - definitely worth looking into IMHO Smile
