Oh my, it's all happening so fast!Got my arm twisted by Craig, PTFE gasket fitted and looks lovely in between my painted block and manifold. Replace and upgrade, ay? Noticed throttle response is a lot crisper too, the gasket combined with a slightly adjusted throttle cable to attain WOT and an ECU reset = Sitting in traffic on the way to work followed by a quick blat up the motorway and no heat soak at all, amazing what a big white sheet of plasticky stuff will do. Someone's in for a treat when they buy this. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Kit I cleaned it, degreased it first then rubbed it down, prepped and sprayed it. Saved myself some money there Might need to re-do it though, all this hassle with the gasket meant i've got it all oily again ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

YAY! Finally got the rear beam lowered!Took it to C.P.R. Auto's in Glasgow yesterday morning, left it with a guy by the name of Stevie (recommended by Skinnyman) and he worked his magic. Had a chat with him first of all, he's a Pug/Citroen specialist so knows his stuff, was explaining the difference in lowering methods and assured me he wouldn't be moving the trailing arms off the beams, he does it the "proper" way by completely removing the tb's. Bargain price for the work done, he even checked the car over for it's MOT due in two months and said it's all tip top bar a drop link that needed tightening up. Total cost? £80 + VAT, call it £90 for cash. Absolute bargain considering most other garages were wanting anything up to £150 round here to do it the pikey way. He said it took a 10-tonne hydraulic press to remove the tb's too, no wonder I couldn't budge them with a BFH Anyway here's how it's looking after yet another good clean as follows: Two bucket wash Cold rinse Meg's Gold Class Wax Pikey Polish of unknown origin, but f*cking good stuff Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection Autoglym Alloy Wheel Cleaner Turtlewax Nanotech Tyre Dressing Autoglym Glass Cleaner (+ a potato for the windscreen, cheers Roland Rat. For the advice that is, not some mail order super potato ) Might keep it after all... And my favourite PS Note the correctly coloured O/S wing now? Before After Picked it up from ebay with a couple of little dings, took a bodywork hammer or two to it and delicately flattened out the dimples, including bent mounts Lined it all up and fitted it, last job was to fit the indicator and lo and behold.. poverty spec 306's have different sized indicators apparently Out came the dremel Job for tomorrow too, fitting my Group N lower mount that I got for the bargain price of £20 brand new in box, then go to Strathy Park to find some inspiration for the POTM thread I have a tan line from my mohawk now too ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

To be fair it's market value now is probably as low as it'll get anyway, doubt it will depreciate much more. No harm in hanging onto it for a bit I guess.PS If you look carefully you can see the dreaded Seicento aka "The Love Bug" in the background, my god i hate that car ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

That is one seriously tidy Ph1 mate. Excellent work. I think you should keep it too but on the plus side, if you do decide to move it on you shouldn't have any trouble at all in shifting it. ________________________________________ mechanical_repairs wrote: i feel like giving her a good dry bumming session. |
