Thats bit harsh but is fair enough as your car is a diffrent colour, heard of a guy on corsa site not getting a pay out on insurance as his corsa was no longer red it was green, so insurance who new car was a diff colour never paid out as dvla still listed car as red or something like that, the polis just have a hard on for you an your car ________________________________________ In my garage just now2003 BMW M3 & 2009 L200 Raging Bull & Audi Q5 S Line AX stock rod & Saxo Stock rod Sold the bike an charged rallye an bought a caravan, midlife crisis or what! |

Yeah, damn Po Po Darren your caps should arrive tomorrow if they didnt get there today Where's that battery gone then? Peepo! Just freeing up a bit of space for when I finally start my custom airbox. Nice FIA killswitch fitted along with a meaty fuse on the main power cable running under the carpet through a grommet to the bulkhead. Can't believe how much the cabling was though, cost £22 for 5m of power cable! Just need to relocate or remove the ABS now and I can start shaping the airbox Also getting a strange issue with the headlight wiring, the dipped beam bulbs seem to get a feed when the sidelights are on? Basically, with the ignition off, all the bulbs work as they should. LED sidelights at position 1, dipped H7's at position 2 and both H7's on full beam. With ignition on though, the dipped H7's come on at low intensity with the sidelights at position 1. Fiddled about with the wiring and it turns out the live feed for the dipped H7 gets a current when the ignition is on and the sidelights are on, which disappears when the ignition is off. No idea why but the wiring looks original so I think that's just the way it is ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Yes,phase one's do that. The dipped beam act as sidelights when the ignition is on. I think from memory there is a relay in the engine conpartment fuse box that controls this fuction. ________________________________________ Ph1 Cossack 6 |

What have you done with the battery wiring then, just attached either end's negative to the chassis then run one fat length of red through the car? What diameter did you use? I'm looking at doing just this fairly soon. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

not difficult once you have had a few belts and wiring scaresi moved my battery to the rear passenger footwell into an FG box, main earth lead strapped securely to the shell and main positive running to my FIA isolator and a secondary permanent live for my immobiliser and other bits. depends on your wiring situation, eg bog std car or vastly modified etc ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

owain wrote: Oh man, just remembered Liam got his car in a music video (36s in). If you can do the same with yours, I'll buy you a pint Lol. That is all. Was pretty easy to wire the relocation in. Rikky went all out with his, I just ran a 4AWG power cable (rated to 135A) from boot to engine bay. Earthed the battery in the boot, killswitch in engine bay, starter harness and fusebox lives to the other side of the killswitch. Earthed the gearbox directly to the chassis too. Not much wiring tbh, it's the fiddly bits that take time. Just make sure you have plenty of M10 eyed connectors and think about it logically. In effect you're just relocating the battery positive, so the end of the power cable at the front can be taken as the "positive terminal", just wire it all up to that. And make sure the power cable can take well over 100A or it'll smoulder when you crank the starter motor ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Spent the day fiddling with a few bits. Had some carbon offcuts so slapped them on the weather strips, they look ok I guess but not as neat as i'd like. Still, am out of yellow paint and forgot to paint them Painted my ph3 rub strips and filler caps too, perfect day for painting so battered through them And a few cheeky shots with the ol' camera phone. Really need to dig out the proper camera, yellow plays havoc with my phone's sensor Just need a yellow ph3 boot now. And a good clean. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |
