I had this exact problem several weeks ago and think it's largely been cured by fitting a new lower engine mount. I changed the OEM one for a Powerflex polyurethane item and the difference is very noticeable. Feels like a lot less 'give' (for want of a better description) with throttle inputs resulting in forward motion of the car rather than the engine moving around.
I should add that I'm a bit of a mechanical novice and found the FAQ guide helpful. It took a while to cut through the outer metal casing of the old bush and my advice would be to first off have a decent junior hacksaw where the blade (and numerous spare blades) can be locked into position, and secondly make sure you're cutting straight which is easier said than done. When I say straight, I mean not at an angle as your might when cutting through some 2x4 wood, as in this case, you will start to saw into the mount casing itself - best avoided
