Out for a test drive in the car last night and all seemed well until i reversed There was a constant knock coming from the front right as i reversed, it was in line with the revolutions of the wheel so sounded like something was catching at a certain point. Odd as i get nothing going forward Any ideas/similar issues? ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

I had this but coming from the below the pedals. It had two garages stummped and was a rotational knock. Turned out to be a loose wheel nut!Could be a knackered wheel bearing? ________________________________________ Racing driver, fighter pilot, astronaut, compulsive liar. |

What kind of impact on handling - the shafts won't make a great deal of difference compared to say an engine mount, top mount or beam mount.Mine have been properly hanging recently and not made much odds. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

My car has a similar problem, knocking when driving not just in reverse. Got new springs put on and the garage mentioned my ball joints were on last legs. Would that cause the car to be less stable as noticed she swings back out when taking tight corners. ________________________________________ Back to my phase 2 in black on the road.Phase 3 sold after spending fortune on it.. It wont be missed. AFTER a phase 3 tailgate in black and front bumper in ace condition. |

I had this with the Brava and it was the engine mounts - the engine was bouncing on the mounts on full lock in reverse, and it was doing it in time with the wheels - so it had me stumped for a while too - cue 2 days stripping perfectly good driveshafts...________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. That makes sense although i get the knock with no steering lock so i think it must be the driveshafts Getting a funny metallic rattle when at low revs when reversing too, makes the car almost stall ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

I had one go on me when reversing into a parking space at my local garage - thank f*ck it happened there, wouldn't like that going on me whilst driving!! ________________________________________ PH2 306 GTI 6Team Nile ™ |
