Bought a 6 last year to use a track slag so as not to destroy my normal everyday car. I went for the 6 as I've been in a few in the past and liked them alot. I also once owned a 106 phase 1 1300 Rallye and allways said I would have another pug fast hatch. My first track day with this car is May 15th in Mondello park here in Ireland. No cage as yet but It will be ordered along with seats and harnesses soon! I've stripped it out and fixed alot of problems with it. Fitted second hand avo coilovers, Lower front brace, Dot 5.1 Fluid, Carbon Lorraine pads and changed all fluids and fitted a De-Cat. I also fitted new wishbones with some bearing bushes and new ball joints. The car was Originally in Wales but made its way here and I'm the third owner in Ireland. It would have cost a fortune to make it road worthy. Bought it for €1000, about £800. So far I reckon I've spent the same again! The biggest problems here in Ireland is getting upgrade parts. A few pics.. |

Both me and the car survived a very tough test yesterday. Drove it like I'd stolen it. Brilliant little car. Som much fun. So much feedback from everything. I love this car. Did 135 miles of track driving and all thats gone mechanically is a CV drive. However at one point when I hit the brakes at somewhere north of 90mph I lost the back (Slicks were still cold). Slide sideways for a long time and brushed the nose off a barrier. Bent the bonnet a little and scratched the bumper alot. But I still just laughed! The only picture I have so far is this! |

I lost the back of one of my old 205's on hard braking of 90mph+. Ended up snaking a lot. A bit of poo came out.It was lowered 60mm all round which screws up the rear bias valve. ?? ________________________________________ Team Ducati 7482003 Subaru Impreza STi |

A little video from inside. You can hear the CV joint giving up at around the 6 minute mark just as I was getting into it. Amazingly it never made a noise afterwards so I kept going.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hoUGSU7DJI |

That looks like a great little video, car sounds well! Ahh decats makes me miss mine That Manta is really nice! Thanks for the photo, my old neighbour was building a drag spec manta, and about a year before he'd planned to drag it he sadly died of a heart attack, his car was awesome though, Manta's......epic! ________________________________________ VW Golf GT TDI 115, 100k nooooooooooooooooooooo! |
