dont bother, i did it to my old 1.4 and couldnt tell the difference apart from my handbrake went from good to shite. The easiest way to do it is to change the full rear beam and make up some new pipes. Youll get much more benefit from fitting better front brakes, some gti6 ones perhaps?________________________________________ ex white Phase 1 Gti6, killed at cadwell park in November 07 |

ive got gti6 brakes and a gti6 axle for it, its getting fitted as ive got it, i dont like the drums, and fell there total shit, fitted new brakes on rear and are still shit, adjusted them up to the point there tight to spin by hand, so i give up and a discs it is. so just make up some new pipes and swap them over, wasnt sure if the abs sensors are the same or not, brakes may not feel as bad as i tink just my set up on Rallye is mintex1144s pads and wilwoods, and fereodo ds2500 pads and brembo discs on rear lol________________________________________ In my garage just now2003 BMW M3 & 2009 L200 Raging Bull & Audi Q5 S Line AX stock rod & Saxo Stock rod Sold the bike an charged rallye an bought a caravan, midlife crisis or what! |

I disagree with anth. When I had my Dturbo I fitted a disc rear beam and it made the car dive much less under braking, it felt more planted and stable when braking. Also because of the thicker ARB and torsion bars it made the handing a touch better. As far as im away everything is pretty much the same apart from the handbrake setup; im sure if theres anything else someone on here will correct me ________________________________________ For Powder Coating services either PM me or email wheels@ashtonpowdercoating.co.ukWe are based in Manchester and can powder coat anything from Wheels, Inlet manifolds, Sub Frames and much more. I've done this and yeah, the hoses are all the same, they may need a bit of bending to get them to fit, but it's nothing major! You do need new Handbrake Cables however, the Disc ones are totally different to the Drum ones...It's made my car far more stable under braking, just make sure it has a compensator, otherwise the back end will be locked and in the hedge before the front brakes are even doing anything. You'll soon get used to leaving it in gear with the Disc handbrakes, they are ultimo crap! |

I'd say that was more due to your drums either being tired or not adjusted properly tbh.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments.
