I ordered on of these a while ago, but the small scrap of paper with hieroglyphics didn't give me much confidence in fitting it.

The guide on this forum was great clicky and even with hardly any room to fit hands and spanners in I got the new link on fine. I angled the link to shift the gearknob neutral position back a bit.

It's great Happy Funny how such a small change makes the car feel even more sporty.

Roll on track day Big grin

I fitted mine with the car in neutral, no problems. Second is easier to get as well now.

Its not slipped in the last couple of weeks, but I will give it a tighten the next time the bonnet's up.

I've got one of these fitted but it doesn't seem to have made the throw much shorter, if any shorter at all! How far down do they need to go to make a difference? Mine is very nearly at the bottom but as I say, still doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. Huh?

Going to get myself a GE quickshift, but just wanted to confirm as I've heard the newer type is not as good as an old version on another thread after a searched "quickshift" on this forum.

Has anyone "recently" purchased the Griffiths Engineering qucikshift from HERE?

For £23.98 all inclusive of postage it looks to be a very good mood reading the reviews.

Some people get on with them and they slip for some. For £20sih then it is no great loss.

If you clean the shaft and do it up tight it should be fine.

Thanks for update smegal. I have heard about them slipping, but I've heard its only a temp issue that can be sorted after a month or two of use.

Out of interest, how does it effect the car if it does slip?

your unlikely to get it into another gear, least thats what happened to me
if needs be you can just take the GE off and put it back to original at the side of the road

Yes

Just pop the linkage off and put it back.

If they slip once take it off clean the shaft up and fit a new nyloc.

I presume this Quickshift just shortens the time between changes then? Never seen one before... perhaps someone can enlighten me

You'll need to throw money at the car. Not on parts. Just stand near your car and throw loose change at it, I find this increases performance for a short period of time

completely concur with this thread, just fitted mine, bit fidly getting the part on but its shortened the shift so much. Word of advice though you really need to push it onto the shaft a fair bit to notice any change. I assume it's normal for the gear changes to feel slightly notchier now that the whole action happens across a smaller movement of the wrist.Whistle
