I'm currently in ownership of my 3rd 306 so I know all about the handling characteristics of them. However this is the only one that's been lowered so I think this could be causing the problem.

Was driving along the dual carrigeway today doing about 60 around a slight bend and I kept feeling the back end go a little. It wasn't lift off oversteer as I had the throttle on slightly but it felt really odd as it's never done it before. Could it be the torsion beam playing up?

Not really I use that road regularly and it's never happened before. Tyres are going to be changed next week so I hope it is crap tyres

It doesn't have to be bumpy or rough, if the turn has negative angle even if you can't see it could throw the back as well .
one of the wildest overseers i have experienced caused from that.

Right this still hasn't been sorted and I've put 2 new sets of tyres on since so that's ruled out.

Could it be worn beam mounts/bushes?

I would guess at knackered P bushes or balljoints.

well when you lower a standard car it does adjust the camber slightly on the front (more negative) that could be the problem

Finally found out the problem. It was a worn ball joint, there was loads of play in it so the wheel wasn't as still as it should be.

I think the description I gave was a bit misleading but that's the way it felt. Car feels spot on now Thumbs up

judging by the state of your old rear beam, i don't think the worn ball joint was your only problem
