Hey guys just about to get another GTi6 Running, but thinking of keeping this one. Whats the MPG like as i do around 400 miles a week. Can you get 400 miles out of a tank from Motorway driving?

Cheers

I could get 400 on just motorway... if I drove at 70.

But if I wanted to drive at 70 I would have bought a diesel shitbox that does 60mpg

I get about 250 at the moment. Mainly country roads with a bit of dual carriageway.

If I do a motorway run I get about 300-350 and thats's driving "swiftly" Whistle

I get 380 round and about up here which is all B roads thrashing and stoping and starting. Motorway I get 440 most of the time. And I have had it as low as 24 mpg out of a whole tank. LOL

When i first got mine i did a while tank pootling at about 65 on the clock and got ...21mpg. Changed the MAP sensor and got as good as a guessed 39mpg. But that's with the short geared Xsara box.

I got 500+ miles out my old 306 DTurbo. And my mrs gets only 300 miles a tank out of her C2 VTS. I'm going to look @ a gti tomorrow, but I was hoping for a consistent 350-400 miles with mostly A-Road steady going. Realistic?

an xsi will give you that but a gti-6 will be more like 300-350 for motorways unless you drive slowly. there is anice astor xsi in the for sale thread atm Thumbs up

i would say around 400 with £60 of v-power, not 60 litres.

this has a bit of a spirited drive, but mainly motorway.
