The recommended rear Ferodo DS2500 FCP558H leaves an inner and outer lip on the disc. Ferodo FCP558H Pad Dimensions: 105.20 x 42.00 x 11.00 mm.

Can anyone recommend a Ferodo rear brake pad that sweeps the entire disc area?

The only ones that I've seen that are deeper are the Bendix pads for the front calipers on the 1.4 - 54.3mm deep

But they require some modification to fit!

Custom-made polybushes available - need an odd size or fitment? - anything from batch work to one-off pieces.

The front calipers on the early 1.4 are a wider version of the rears, but using deeper pads.

Only problem with using them is the pad is thicker and there's no retainer for the piston. FBD393 is the part no.

Using Bendix FBD393 sounds like I will have to fabricate a retainer and remove some pad material? (and I can't even get a door to shut atm!)

What about using a rear disc from a clio. I think they use the same rear pad as a gti-6 ... Ferodo FCP558H but list a slightly smaller rear disc and do not get a lip.

Yep, you'd have to get some fabrication done.

I can have you some custom made but you'd better sit down before the price LOL

Could the callipers not be spaced out a touch more? I.e. further out from the centre of the wheel? or would this end in disaster LOL

Are you really noticing the difference of miniscule amounts of braking force?

I doubt it

I think he just wants a pad that gets rid of the rusty lip...

sorry phillipm, but you are saying that unlike the fronts where you could use say a lancia delta DS2500 front pads to get rid of the rusty rings, this is not possible at all in the same way on the rears?

The only pads I've spotted that might do it were the FBD393 with a bit of modification, but I've never really looked into it seriously - I'm on drums so it doesn't bother me! - so there may be other pads somewhere.

purely cosmetic! although once the lip gets to 2mm it does impact on the edges of the pads.

Silly question, but how do you get around fitting pads without the piston retainer notch.

I have some unused 1144's here which are for a front bendix caliper of some sort. They're of identical dimensions to the rears on my 205 1.9 so thought I might use them somehow??
