Right last track day i was out, my brakes werent up to much, theres no air in the system at all the discs and pads have plenty life in them, but i was thinking of changing them anyway if i can find discs!!

im running roland rats old wilwoods, they seam ok on road for normal use but when thrashing it and doing hard breaking the abs seams to kick in in the wet or the dry, is this just that the brakes are that sharp? just abs kicks in and i dont stop that quickyl as abs is juddering away, all abs sensors are fine as check them on the computer, but im not sure whats up with them? thinking of goin down the brembo route for the track as cheaper for discs as my setup runs the 285mm wilwood discs!

any help or suggestions guys

Rear load compensator deff not seized as i lube it up everytime my carts on the ramp which is most weeks lol

and im running tripple 8's

dont bother, you wont succeed as they are 4x4 and have immense amount of grip and far more complex TC and ABS systems LOL

I know this but when on track an evo fq owner is alot more sensible than a SC rallye owner lol

Its probably your inside rear wheel lifting off the ground coming into a corner so you're feeling the ABS kick in Smile

Try it without the ABS, or do a bit of suspension work.

Davey, if i take out the abs i think i will have alot more bumps lol

adam, its when im on the straight coming up to a hair pin, im not actually turning but just trying to slow up for cornering if you no what i mean. suspension wot would you recomend doing to it?

pass, really need to get in touch with miles and get some 1144's for the wilwoods, think they are just wilwood supplied ones have no idea to be honest, i want to change discs and pads.

wilwood pads are shite..

but if they are locking wheels then they must be doing there job.. tyres is what you want.

ABS is pretty much useless with stamping on four pots.. as the pulse times need adjusting to suit!

So in theory if i just disconet the plug to the ABS pump that will mean i have no abs and could try it out?

Can the ABS pulse times be adjusted mab? Mine locks right up if I stamp on my brakes.

a previous 306 i had seemed to put the abs on way too early and in the dry, and it gave me a few brown trouser momrnts, surely theyre not ment to though, i swear it was a fault when my old one did it.

I would check the rake of your car. measure the cut out section on the front and rear jacking points. The rear should be around 10mm higher than the front. This affects breaking performance. If your rear is lowered alot then the car may not be sitting correctly and ABS will kick in too much.

I am very happy with EBC ultimax rotors and DS2500 pads - breaking is simply amazing. well it was until i recently adjusted the rearbeam ... Doh

also if its lowered won't it affect the bias valve operation

Also I'd suggest the c*nt factor definitely is an issue

it is lowered but rear is at least 10mm higher than front like, think i will rip abs out, well can i not just unplug it an see if it makes a diffrence?

if the abs is coming on that would suggest you are loosing grip, therefore nowt wrong with the brakes, and you need more grip.

afaik ABS would only affect the locked brake anyway, so you'll still be braking just as quickly, if not quicker, than without.


got a plate diff and decent dampers?

Disconnect any one of the ABS sensors and it will disable ABS.

No Diff and shite gmaz suspension, saving for diff and got coilovers sitting to fit, think i will try it with out abs on the 28th.
