Same blasting gun as mine, work well but horrible to use, that stuff get everywhere.

Looking good fella.

hi carl, yer i bought that gun but to be honest it didn't give me the finish i wanted. it doesn't help that its not adjustable pressure where as my new one has a adjustable gauge on it and runs at 125psi (hence it blasts everything straight off).

but like you said its a very very messy job im doing them in a big create so i can reuse the beads but it still gets everywhere.

thanks for the comments aswel.

richard.

Erm? What's the N/S/R supported by and why isn't it falling to the ground?!

Is there a 4th axle stand I'm missing in those images? Unsure

hi, yes it only has 3 axel stands in that pic as i took the 4th out so i could get the board under the car that is in the last pic.

the car as showed will stay up with 3 axel stands but would not be safe to work on.

i can still fully move the car around the garage then.

richard.

good work there Richard, only one thing I'd point out that I've seen from the pictures, the front floor area right where the inner wing ends is pushed up, next to where the subframe is.

this is very common from people putting the jack in the wrong place, ideally this does need sorting as its now a water trap, many 306's are rotting from the inside out exactly here and need welding (just had to do this on my brothers car for its MOT)

hi, thanks for pointing that out but im on the case with that already. when ive finished the car it will not have any dents/marks anywhere. as soon as i get the car upon a spit the underneath work will begin.

im going to beadblast underneath to strip everything off then pull all the dents out with a dent puller any bits of sealer flaking will be taken off completely if there is rust behind it will be ground back treated and completely resealed the whole underneth of the car will then be treated and resprayed in the original colour (NOT RED).

DONT WORRY im not doing half a job here this shell will look like new when it is done as i have a serious case of OCD so im a fussy git (has to be perfect).

also thanks for the comments

richard.

Dont know whether this is a silly question but the hook welded onto where the wheel arch is. Whats the actual need for this? Dont worry I haven't just noticed this as I use it for jacking and axel stands etc. Also it hits on bumps on a lowered 6 but surely its not there to protect the engine when hitting bumps?

Na its only when I take the stupid rubbery bumps quickly the car bounces and hits them but thats only if you dont take them really slowly.

Hmmm... They seem pretty strong Mellow

UPDATE:

ive done abit more work to the rallye now. i started by taking off the n/s inner wing supports and one of them was a tad rusty so im going to replace it.

i had to drill out all the spot welds (that took a while) after that they come off easy. i then grinded back some of the rust and treated it with rust remover which leave a protective coat of zinc phosphate which will stop the bare metal from rusting again until i do it with bilt hammer dexo c and hydrate 80 to fully protect it.

here are some pics:

i cant wait to get my spit made up now so i can start work underneath.

Looking bloody good there, once you have done yours what would you be doing with the thingy majig that you are using to flip it over? Would like to do the rear of my car at some stage, i did the fron just like yours a couple of years ago.

A few pics, starting-

Half way there-

Painted-

Alot of hard work but very rewarding. Red should be great, make sure you paint it base coat and laquer.

Why didnt you send the shell away to be dipped to strip it then coated, Then you paint it was it the cost factor?
