It's easier to overtighten the bolts until they shear off and I would definitely change both sides ________________________________________ Standard Black 6Black HBSC6 |

The end of the thread has a hex slot, 8mm I think ? Put the trolley jack underneath it to take the load and a bar on the key, then release the nut after plenty of WD40. If you're changing 1 side change the other as well, but I would recommend the metal ones instead of the shite plastic items. If that fails just cut the f*cker off with either angle grinder or hacksaw |

I was only guessing at 8mm but I put the allen key in and tapped it in with a hammer, came off a treat, however, the other had been rounded by a previous owner so just cut it off |

Or get a through socket set and use the through socket ratchet with an allen key attachment on a normal socket. Come undone in seconds and it makes taking struts apart a much easier affair.________________________________________ Ex Owner of 2000 Phase 3 306 GTi 6 China Blue - You shall be missed1974 Triumph Stag 1989 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6 2003 Alfa Romeo 147 JTD Lusso 2005 Mondeo Ghia X 3.0 Estate LPG |
