May sound like a stupid question, want to change my oil pipes over to red silicone ones, but would i need to drain the oil out or could i just do a straight swap?

but in all fairness, why get brand new pipes and run the old oil? Do an oil change while you are at it Smile

Which oil pipes???Unsure

You would only need to drain them if they were lower than the oil level in the sump, and I can't think off hand there are any on the Gti6 engineUnsure

Before you go buying silicon pipe you do realise you can't use normal silicone for oil breathers/drains or fuel????Wink

It will break the silicone down, and you will end up with lumps of it in your sump, which will then block your oil pump pick up,bye bye engineShock

If you do buy some it has to be flourosilicone lined pipe to stop the oil breaking it down
Wink

Very expensive compared to normal silicone pipeCrazy

Just looked on Spoox site, that kit looks well to be fair.

I Forgot about the big pipe to bottom of block!!!Blush

You would struggle with a length of straight pipe to get the shape correct I think.Dry
