hello people

is it common for when changing down from 6th gear into 5th, that 3rd gear is chosen instead

hope you understand what i mean ?

the gearstick seems to have a natural pull over to the left

is it a case of getting used to keeping the stick pulled over to the right when changing down to 5th

Most gearboxes are spring loaded to go to the middle so will return to the 3rd/4th position if no right hand side pressure is there.

ive put it in 4th instead of 6th before

As said, it's sprung to centre, you will notice it pulls towards the middle on the change from 1st to 2nd too Wink

My epic fail was not realising I has a 6th gear for two whole weeks after buying my Rallye! In my defence, it had an aftermarket gearknob, and I knew nothing about Gti6/Rallyes before I went to look at and later buy the car! Shut up LOL
