I have just replaced my clutch, greased bushes, and cable but the clutch is still heavier than id like. I have looked into all kinds of ways of making it lighter. I thought about lengthening the clutch arm or pedal slightly but this will just mean more pedal travel is required. Anyone else find the angle of the clutch pedal movement is uncomfortable and a realy long throw. When the pedal is up it pushes your toes up, with your knee nearly touching the steering column. Press it down and your foot is nearly parralel with your leg, one extreme to another.
I have removed the spring on the side of the pedal and replaced it with a slightly stronger spring which seems to have made the pedal a bit lighter. The pedal is still returning fine and has free play at the top. Im thinking if you could get the spring setup made from steel with polished load surfaces you could put a stronger spring in place. If only i was an engineer.
A little warning - My knee is now shagged from the previous heavy clutch that got heavier over time without me knowing. Was fine one day, running, cycling, boxing, then the next day i had knee pain. I used to be able to drive any car or van no probs, now i struggle to drive any car with a cable clutch, can't run, cycle and even limp walking 3 months later.
