Does anyone have a knackered gearbox with third ratio still in tact? I've got an old box with all gears but third fine...I'm going to send it off to a company who want a good look at it.

Been told that they'll strengthen them around 30% and it'll cost <

Hit the limiter in 6th gear at 169mph (GPS - TomTom on the German autobahn). Still pulling like a train too. Cheers

No mate, I was at Chipwizard's earlier and there was a guy in there who passed on the contact details. Said he'd had work done and recommended it. Worked out around

Miles offers a strengthening service, he has them shot peened and a coating applied.
Stan had his done if I remember rightly and his has stood up well.

Will be sending mine there as I think he is cheaper that what you will be paying.

No I meant Miles might have a spare cog mate Thumbs up

You could also get them cryogenically frozen as an alternative option.

Do you think that a treated Xsara VTS box would be significantly stronger Miles?

PM me some more details if you would, as I definitely want a treated gearbox before I go to Le Mans and the 'Ring in June...
