This is what i've got to work out out as it seems forged engines are costly.

Would i maybe be better off with a rebuilt standard engine so like new, bit of headwork, lightened fly wheel and a low boost S/c conversion ? I think that would set me back about 3kish give or take, and be around 260 bhp ~?

The example is a high specification, and can be value-engineered where required, you could take

my engine have been fuly forged and n/a and i am running 270bhp and revs to 9.5k and i use it every day its cost a lot to do it buts the sound is so good.

Custom Cat cams, solid lifter, 48 tbs, forged pistons, one piece values alot of head work, uprated springs and caps lots more just cant think at the min, but it goes very well cant wait to get see what i can get ¼ time this year.

The most sensible thing to do in terms of reliability, drive ability and cost would be low boost SC. I did mine for under
