Hoping that someone can put me and my 306 out of misery with way of getting radio code - helped colleague with my jump leads and when taking them off he unclipped the battery terminal .. seems unfair to have to pay

Comedy Central? Erm?

Have a look in the FAQ section - there's a guide on how to "crack" your own code.

Failing that, if it's OEM radio from new, then you could contact one of the main dealers - ideally the one that sold it. Assuming they've not purged their records given the age of the car, they will have had the original code "on file". Sweet talk them though - possibly get a bird to call if you can lay your hands on one Whistle

Welcome to the club btw.

It's the money route I'm afraid. Never actually found any of the downloadable code crackers that do the PU 2294-A.

Kev

The code cracker doesn't work on phase 3 cd players. I've got one without a code too Sad

Sadly the calculators don't work with the phase 3 units.

Only go to Peugeot for the code if you're sure it's the HU the car left factory with, otherwise just go to a local car audio dealer that can do decoding.

I can vouch for Radio Codes UK, i got my radio code of them for my PU-2294A and it did not work, so its been decoded in the past. A quick email to them and as the code did not work under there guarantee they will decode it for free, just send it to them they decode it and send it back 1st class recorded. Thumbs up

Radio Code UK wants £20 to decode my PU-1570B (which it says on a sticker on one side of the unit - or PU-1570C which it says on the other side!).

I'm sure the service is great but I think I would rather put the £20 toward a new head unit.

I tried the FAQ system but doesn't have the right number on there (the one with lot of zeros) so it didn't work.

EDIT: Asked Peugeot dealer the other day just on the off-chance. He quoted £16.50 for the code. I tried the "what, does it really cost that much" line but didn't work. In my case I still think it is better spent on a more modern radio.

Call me stupid (and I'm sure some of you will) but take the cd player out search the whole thing for the code written anywhere on on it. Lost the code for mine, bought a new player instead and when I came to fit it saw it written on top of the original player. Sorry to insult your intelligence if you have already done this

if there's a C7000000xxxx barcode somewhere on the radio then it is possible to calculate the radio code

if not, the 93C46 EEPROM needs to be read out, and from the dump anyone can tell the code Smile

so just have a look around, perhaps there's a friend of you who has an eeprom reader, and with that it's a 5 min job
