should be fine, but vastly depends on how hard you drive.________________________________________ Team allesclar ® |

I'd personally say no, but i'm very hard on the brakes on track. I'd get another set of decent pads and just use them on track, change them over in the morning, and swap back to std pads if you're concerned.________________________________________ Seat Leon Cupra FR / 306 GTI6 / Breaking 205 GTI6 / Caterham 7 / Mercedes Sprinter 311CDI LWB Sold: Fisher Fury - Laguna DCI Estate - P1 306 XSI - E30 BMW 325i Baur Convertible - Daihatsu Fourtack - Suzuki GSXR600 - 205 Rallye |

I'm with Sean, I seem to be hard on my brakes be it on track or the road. I personally would cook standard pads within 2 or three corners!Incidentally, the brakes in the company van are only lasting 15k at most before metal starts hitting metal. Crazy really when you consider it has a 20k service interval. I may be hard on my brake but the point I was trying to make to Citroen garage was that it's not as if I carry much weight in the back. If I did I suspect I'd be back every 10k for new pads/discs. Having said all the above, the brakes in the van WILL not fade - no matter how hard I try. Most likely because you can't get it to go fast enough before having to brake again ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. My Brembos (Bigger than a standard disk, and better cooling due to them bieng ally calipers) overheated standard pads in 3 laps at Castle Coomb. If you are doing trackdays, invest in some decent pads so that brake fade does'nt spoil your day.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. OK - I WAS GOING TO GET FERODO DS2500'S BUT COULDNT AFFORD THE EXTRA COST AT THE TIME. NOW IM THINKING THAT I'LL GET THEM AND FIT THEM. THEN IF POSSIBLE - GOING BACK TO MY ORIGINAL QUESTION - I WILL REFIT THE OEM'S AFTER THE TRACKDAY. IF THAT IS SAFE AND OK TO DO SO. CHEERS |

fit the ferodos, and take the oems with you just in case.but depending on your driving style you may well find that the pads are fine after you have finished your trackday. |

Fit ferodos, and if it makes you feel better either keep your oe ones as spares or swap them before and after your trackday, i personally only use my car on the road for travelling to and from trackdays and its running ferodos all the time and have no probs. *Edit* I personally would not run on standard pads on track having experienced before how badly they can go off if your anywhere near hard on the brakes! I did a full day at Oulton (with Jeffers actually) on standard discs and pads, and they were absolutely fine. I tend to be very easy on my brakes on the road (silky-smooth style, probably ) and take it pretty steady on track - regular breaks (15-20 minute sessions, 20-30 minute gaps between them) to allow the car to recover, and had no fade. I will be doing Sunday at Mallory on the same discs and pads, and I'm expecting them to be okay too. Fingers crossed ________________________________________ E39 M5Ph2.5 GTI-6 |
