Looking to up the BHP of my 6 but I am not entirely sure which way would be the best to get the most out of it for my money. Looking to spend about 1k in total, thinking about new cams (I've heard that the 6 comes with double valve springs already? Any truth in that?) and also maybe port and polish the head. New exhaust, induction kit(which one should i go for?) or I may skip some of it and do what some ppl have said and get a Quiafe LSD.

Any advice or comments?

Do a search of everything youve mentioned. You'd be better off spending the money on making it handle, or maintenance things. Solid rear beam bushes, eibach springs, bilstein b8 shocks, hybrid arb, roller bearing wishbone bushes.

Power is nothing without control.

That aside, if you want more power then a peter taylor engineering stage 1 inlet cam may be worth a look at, theres no point in putting any after market exhaust cam into these engines unless youre going with alot more duration and /or lift on the intake cam, and you cannot do that with stock pistons.

Yes they have double valve springs as stock. The heads are really good as stock, so not really worth touching, 3 or 4 angle valve seat cut will make a small difference at small cam openings, matching the inlet manifold to the head may be worth while, aswell as the exhaust manifold, but the port shape/size is really good as is.

Have a look into advancing the cam timing too, even with standard cams.

A knN filter that fits in the standard airbox is the easiest thing to do induction wise.

A ported throttle body will help a little too, seems to let the engine pick up a little better, slightly more responsive.

Lightened flywheel, alli crank pulley aswell. easyish to do and worthwhile.

550 for cams seems a bit steep, surely from what I heard a Qauife LSD would make much more differance than what gains that would give. I've just ordered PE2's all round, solid rear beam mounts are ready to go on as my rear beam is knocking already. Going to do the front bush set when I get suspension to go with it, dunno what to get tho. May go for Lotek if the price is right lol.

I think Loteks price is right, give him a PM and find out.

Im definitely doing a Quaife diff in mine, i presume yours is going to mainly be a road car yer? if so the Quaife seems to be the way to go, if its mainly track, then a plate diff would be better.
