your not suppoesed to fill from the side. lol that hole is a level indicator haha on top of the gear box there is a black plastic nut. undo it and fill it frm there. use the pug stuff. its cheap and will help with gear changes |

The top it meant to be a breather ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. BE3 boxes are filled from the side until it begins to run out else you could end up overfilling. The top I believe can be used as a level indicator using the dipstick.________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

I always filled mine from the top too even though I know you're supposed to fill it from the side. Surely it can't matter too much?________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

I fill mine from the top, and make sure I put the correct amount of oil in. (2.3L) No problems here!________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

haynes manual says to fill it from top until it leaks out the side hole...on another note, i know somebody who filled their engine oil up by pouring down the dipstick LOL ________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

good luck getting a dipstick down the breather hole I always take the level plug off with the wheels on full lock left, and just fill through the breather, plastic tub on the ground under the level plug. I know oil amount is different in engine for air con models. I reinsert mine up through the sump plug if this helps and when it pops out of the washer jets I know it's full so shut the sump plug. ________________________________________ Black X Reg PIII.VGTi 6 A4212 pt 1 A4212 pt 2 Searching the streets of Bristol for 1.36p/day.Joint Kent Leader |
