I have'nt seen your cage, so I would'nt like to say if it will still be possible to remove it with a bar in place, it is possible to make the bar a bolt in job, but that means more fabrication and more money. If its just a bar, no messing around with brackets etc.

looking pretty good Thumbs up

I was suposed to be having my battery put into the floor like that a few months ago, but the fabrication place never ended up doing the box for me Sad so its just held in place with a bar over the top bolted into the floor Smile

Is it getting a full respray to cover all the rust Whistle what colour ?

Give me the dimensions and I'll fold one up for you if you want?

Let the painting begin!
This is the first time we have sprayed a car so it did take a looooooooooong time – but I am happy with the end result
The paint room (aka my garage):

Adrian ready for the first coat:

Primer on:

White going on:

Adrian Left me right:

Now for the funky part – can you guess what colours I’m going to use?:

After weeks and weeks and weeks and (you get the impression) we were nearly finished the painting, just the colours to go on then some polishing:

Unfortunately the green does not look very bright in these photos:

And completed:

Time to fit the dash, interior wiring & some green ‘accents’ – well we had to use the left over paint somewhere:

The aluminium door cards were from ‘205dimma6’ on here.

Thanks - yes we've certainly learnt loads so far and we can be proud it is all our own work. Although sometimes we wonder why we started.

Good effort Thumbs up

When I first saw the paint job I thought 'what the f**k...', but the more I look at it the more I like it!

Tempted to do something similar myself, maybe a nice red A-team stripe LOL

What gear did you use for spraying? was looking at picking up some to do mine.....eventually

LOL Yes the colour takes a bit getting used to.
We ended up using 2pak paint with a ~50L compressor and a 1.2mm suction fed spray gun (not sure what any of that means as it was my Friends tools - lol)

Here are photos of some parts we have been acquiring over the last few months.
Seats:
Got a great deal on a pair of OMP HTS fibreglass seats on eBay.

Coilovers:
Bought these KW variant 2 coilovers from Stu on here.

Braided Brake pipes:
Got these from ‘mr swampy s16’ with the red sleeving (this will match the red brake lines on the rest of the car – when done).

I had a hunt around my local scrappy and found 5 of these wheels – don’t look much but they are the C5 alloys . These wheels weigh nothing compared to the originals. Also got them at a bargain price – guess the guy at the scrap yard did not know they where alloy (and I forgot to tell him).
