Righto i know i'm not in the suspension section, but i need two new tyres too so p*ss off all you picky buggers! LOL

coil spring snapped in work today, wierdly when the car was either stationary or as i came to a stop in the carpark because i only noticed when i tried to drive off tonight, my boss said i can change it tommorow in work but can a novice like me do it?? apart from the spring compressor are there any other tools i need? secondly has anyone had any bargains on tyres recently as the market is always changing? the spring punctured the one but they're both near the limit so i might as well change the two.

rant over! thanks in advance ppl Thumbs up

you need a 7mm allen key for the op of strut .

will have to buy seperatly as 7mm doesent come on most sets.
also a 21mm spanner iirc for the top nut. could be 22? Unsure

If they are the standard dampers i think you'll need a 7mm alan key and 22mm ring spanner or some other way of undoing the top nut with the alan key through the centre.
I cant remember the other sizes for the nuts but think 16mm and 17mm sockets are needed, maybe 21mm or 22mm and 13mm if your taking the brake caliper off too.
Basically take a good socket set and torque wrench.

I think thats about it tool wise, maybe something to prise the knuckle apart a little too, i used a flat bladed screwdriver and hammer LOL

Also, something to hold the droplink, cant remember if its torx or alan key.

Hope thats some help Smile

EDIT: Too slow LOL
I cant remember if it was 21mm or 22mm for the standard nut, as we replaced the standard with bilstein which was the different size.
