No its not worth it at all - the standard TB will handle 250BHp without any problem. Only thing you'll get is slightly better throttle response, but its not worth it for that much money (I have a slightly larger one on my car).________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Personally get the cam timing advanced and you'll see an instant gain. Nothing else in your list will give you that, although the fly and pulley will obviously be noticeable.________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

I need to sort a cold intake really, i have the filter straight onto the throttle body atm, it was connected to the stock tube, but was getting a little scared how low it was with the water/puddles of recent so moved it up. De-cat cant hurt can it? throtle body is obviously a reasonably cheap thing to sort for me, car has got a scorpion cat back system allready, i know they are not the greatest though. Im running 50 profiles instead of 55's aswell. |

Im running 50 profiles instead of 55's aswell. Induction kit straight on the intlet manifold is not a good idea bue to heatsoak issues and really needs to be where the old airbox was.i also have a K&N open induction in this place and will be looking into an enclosed induction kit as a remedy to this problem. De-cat may free up 1-2bhp if your very lucky but this seems at sacrifice of torque on some members cars iirc.scorpion system will look tidy and and a nice noise not much else And the 50's make no difference at all except making the speedo read slightly higher than if on 55's |

Mine made 175bhp on Ecosse's rollers, that's with a decat, sports silencer and K&N.Was give or take most powerful on the day (0.5bhp less than condieboy's), but it had a rebuild about 15k ago so it's probably more to do with that. Sounds nice though ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Regarding the tyres, they will make a small difference to final drive, im trying to get the car i little more responsive and quicker from point to point, no use in having the thing being able to do 135+ mph, acceleration is key. it seems to have helped a little as is to be honest. as said previously, im trying to do simple easyish, 'cheap' things that work, suspension i have sorted, coilover set to go on there, 21mm tb's, solid mounts. wishbone bushes to do, plus engine mounts, quick shifter. then Quiafe diff, its stripped quite far as is, some more to do though, dash/heaters, air con system, skin bonnet etc. 1 piece at a time. |
