Went to work tuesday, all was fine untill the end of the day, i started the car and it just hunted for a few seconds then cut out, now all it seems to do is hunt for idle and does not move very easily, if you put your foot down it just bogs down and cuts out, it seems like there is a fuel starvation but not sure, have plugged it in to diagnostic machine and checked plugs and coil packs but all was fine, any ideas?

could be any of a host of bits, get the multimeter and compression tester out, check the testing sensors FAQ (or get one of the fitters to sort you a printout)

Done a print out, it said oxygen sensor faulty but surely that cant be causing it to do that? None of the mechanics nor my dad think it would cause that

have you tried unplugging it?

it might be making the ecu go mental and chuck tons of fuel in, only issue I could think about that is that it doesn't get used till it has warmed up so doesn't affect the car for a short while.

I'd check stuff like CTS TPS etc, MAP.

Check the ignition relay behind the ecu/battery. Mine has been doing the same for 18 months in the wet and that was my main suspect.

Could be the lambda giving a wierd signal though.

Luke, I thought mine was probably the lambda as it wouldn't work on part throttle. However it worked fine on full throttle when the lambda isn't used.

Just a thought.
