After fitting these to the 6 it still felt a bit 'rolly' so tried to stiffin it up a bit by adjusting them.

Fronts ok, turned them clockwise as far as they could go but the rears just seam to keep on turning in a clockwise direction!

If i keep turning will the valve come out completely or are they meant to take a huge amount of turns?

It was tight at first now it seams to move really easily...Blink

~24 clicks on the rear IIRC.

The grubscrew fastening the knob on hasn't come out has it?

It doesn't click at all when i turn it mate.

The screw is there with the gaz sticker on it and stating which way to turn (negative and positive signs)

They were not new, bought of a forum member.

Nah, there's a little grub-screw in the side of that knob that holds it on the shaft.

Oh ok.

You mean a screw you'd use an allen key to lossen/tighten? Like whats on the front struts to lower/raise the front end?

Nice one, so when i get a new grubscrew you put it in as tight as possible then it should click when you turn the screw?

Doesn't need to be massively tight, but I'd stick a touch of loctite on it.

Legend.

Think it must be missing with what you've said.

Im all scrubbed up now in the house, p*ssing it down outside, i'll check tomorrow.

It was both the rears that were not clicking...coincidental that both screws may be missing?

May be, might also be the needles in them are jammed if they've been on set on full stiffness + stood for a while.

Just checked there are no grubscrews attached to the main screw or anywhere else on the shock.

I can't turn the screw by hand but it was moving easy with a set of grips.

Confused.

They were an upgrade!!LOL ...may need another one though.

You may be right though, taking them back off and mechanic at work taking a look at them.

I find it pretty hard to adjust my rears when they are on the car, but they aren't the same make.

My problem is its too easy to turn the screw. Just doesn't seem right.

Mine too, the click is'nt a positive on the rears as it is on the fronts though, if you are unsure if its working, take a shock off and wind all the damping off and compress then extend it by hand (crude but it should happen quite quick and easily) then wind the damping all the way on and it should be noticably slower. Count the turns or half turns and set them half way, then fit and go for a drive. If you need to adjust just evenly add more or less turns, the clicks just make keeping track easier but don't affect the damping action at all. Just hope the damper knob is turning the shaft mate, but I expect it will be. Hope you get it sorted Thumbs up

i had endless problems with the adjusters on the GAZ's. The clicks are not positive enough. Mine ere done with one key(knoCool not attatched to the adjustersNo

Anyhoo
ditched them and went for KW'sSmug
