bassically im thinking of caming and remaping the 6..anyone know what gains in power ud get? iv heard 180 190 bhp from good cams and map. one more think how hard is it 2 take the air con out altogher? will it make a difference in weight?

The Rallye and the earlier gti6 didnt have aircon so you you would need the belt set-up off one of them, "search" has loads of info if you are prepared to put in a bit of time.

The aux belt that runs round the compressor, pas pump, alternator etc

go easy on the lad. nobody mentioned what belt, and hows he supposed to know whether its the aux belt or timing belt?

christ, and you wonder why you get pricks like feno22? he's probably holding a grudge from your replies to a simple question like this.

he's right even if he is missing a gear Razz !!!! these threads are here to help people not take the p*ss!!! not everyones mechanically minded you know otherwise he wouldnt ask the question in the first place!!!! give him a break

as for your question on cams & remap bhp gains it usually depends on the condition of your engine to start with, most people see there cars running 180 to 190bhp after both are installed somtimes even more!!! but it also depends on the type of cams you intend on fitting!!!! make sure you have a new exhaust system and preferably an induction kit to help the car breath better if you havent already!!!! Cool

he asked about taking the a/c system out guys so i think the first reply was just letting him know that the belt setup is different without the compressor , proberly wassnt expecting to be talking about belts!
