Ordered Monday, delivered and fitted Thursday. Awesome service cheers mate!

But it was such a bas**rd job to do, see if anyone can figure out why from this pic...

Yeah that's right, the sockets separated from the rods on all 3 big ends, and the little end even snapped off the lowest linkage! Rust eh?

And the shiny jobbies replacing them

Once again, cheers Miles, good delivery times and perfect fit. +1 for your reputation eh? LOL

can you make the gear linkage shorter with this set up

Not as far as i'm aware, the thread is just for the locking nuts to stop the sockets from spinning, i think....

ive got a set of these fitted to mine what a differance. didnt have much trouble getting the old ones off as 1 had snapped. use a 13 or 14mm open end spanner and levered them off. there is a bit more noise but i took them off and put copper grease in the joints on the rods and when u clip them back on to the selector arms it sits between the ball and rod. dosnt go away altogether but big improvement.

A little tip for anyone changing gear linkages in the future. Instead of trying to lever them off, get some mole grips on the round ball joint part of the linkage your removing, and turn them sideways. This way they you can have them all off in about 5 mins and not damage yourself in the process.

dont forget some grease in the cups, NOT copper grease mind Smile

copper grease is not a lubricant, its an anti seize compound for non moving parts, it has particles of metal in it which will wear out a bearing or a bush.

Ok thanks man, this makes sense, so what type of grease would you advise then? Do you know by any chance if miles also sells quickshifts for the 6? I send him a pm but i thought i might just ask one of the pros like you.

Standard Lithium Moly type grease will be fine I'd have thought.

I don't think Miles does quickshifts, just get the one from Griffths Engineering and fit it while you're there Yes
