I see what you are trying to get at, but about a 95% fail on that one fella.

But yes cold air does improve things a little. Try a turbo car to really notice the difference.

As a rule of thumb a 10oC drop in air temps will give you about 3% more power due to the increase in air density and the extra fuel that can be injected.

This is why turbo cars use an intercooler, to reduce the air inlet temps.

Denser air will cause more drag so you may only notice the benefit at lower speeds LOL

yeah i always like driving the car in the cold wether always seems a bit more nippy where as in the real hot summer days they feel a little sluggish, like adam said you really notice the difference between the hot and cold wether in a turbo car, as i did in the scooby....

One does forget however that with the wind such as that like we are experiencing at the moment the 3% extra power from a bit of cool air is gonna do diddley squat in terms of speed Whistle

negligable.

As density of a matter increases, so does the resistance of a body moving through it. So basically even if your car moves abit faster, it only seems it as its harder work for your car to get through colder air.

This is all so so small though but i though i would point out that when air is warmer, its thinner and has less resistance to an object moving through it Wink

Yup, but as pointed out, weight is the main problem with acceleration at low speeds, not drag, so it'll feel faster in accleration...
