ICV is the only one you haven't gone for, that and the Lambda - though that's more overfuelling/overrevving than juddering.I'm in the same boat with mine. ________________________________________ '99 1.8 XS - Sold'00 GTi6 - Killed by armco '01 Cabriolet 1.8 - Sold '96 Eunos Roadster 1.8 Import |

Worth checking the alternator connections too. I not that long ago rebuilt mine, and this silly little thing caused me loads of juddering issues.good luck sorting it and chin up. ________________________________________ my car's spending all my money grrrrrrrrrr |

Well well, trying ti fix my misfiring problems aren't easy. Anyways i recently changed my a spark plugs to some original pug ones. That did help a bit butt didn't solve the problem.Well i accidental unplugged the camshaft position sensor and what the hell no more misfire? It's removed right now , and it's never been running this smooth will be ordering a new one tomorrow... ________________________________________ Love my 306 GTI |

Jepps, try unplugging it first and see if that helps, it might be more difficult to start without it butt otherwise it's fine to keep it unplugged.Since i have changed the cam-sensor it runs like new joys of joy ________________________________________ Love my 306 GTI |

You are talking about the sensor ontop of the gearbox, not the cam sensor on the head? |

i have the same problem and have had since i bought the car tried every sensor other than nock and cam. Will be un plugging mine and trying out tonight. However i think my problem is the ecu's controll of the idle valve as it keeps putting up fault code 22 even with a new one on... I've got a spare cam sensor anyway so we shal see!________________________________________ Black power baby! i have 2 gti-6's and a load of spare sensors. My black 6 with running problems has had idle valve, lambda, green coolant, tps, map, coil packs, plugs, injectors, fuel rail, etc etc. A mate of mine has access to a scanner that reads my 6 and gives live data. The same fault code (code 22) air fuel ratio mixture adaptation keeps returning. However autodata states 22 as being the icv. Live data on all sensors is spot on. Apart from the icv which it seems the ecu has no idea what percentage to request. At times it was 1% and should increase with etern extra load you add but didnt. And other times shot up to 99 or 100% and did not move. Cam sensor does not give a live data reading so cant check that on there but drove home from work today with it disconnected and seemed to behave itself. Will leave it off for a week or so as the car has a habit of running spot on for a week after an ecu reset then juddering resumes. Pete. ________________________________________ Black power baby! Ahhh the weekly ECU reset.Fond memories of the first year or two of the forum, when that was the sum total of our collective mechanical abilities and we did genuinely all used to do weekly ECU resets ________________________________________ Trackday, trackday, trackday |

lol you've been around a while then, i'm not saying i do it very often just it can run spot on for anything from a day to 2 weeks after a re-set then the juddering and misfiring resumes On 90 percent of ecu controlled cars if the cam sensor was faulty or unplugged the car would either not start at all or would cut out all the time. But not a 6! Lol ________________________________________ Black power baby!
