so the general consensus appears to be any good brand of 10w40!!! simplespeople saying change oil every 6-10k.. wen i picked my 6 up a month ago i didnt find out wat oil was currently being used but i do know it recently had a service, inc. an oil change (and a gearbox oil change, is the different?), but now the dip stick is running low so need to top up soon. The oil in there is very clean and new so i guess i could do a taste test but i dont like the taste of oil. Would it be safe to just top up with a new oil type (eg Mobil 10w40) even though the oil in there could be diff, or would you advise bleeding out the current oil and putting a fresh type in, so to prevent two different oils mixing i guess.!
