Silicon sealed my torsion bars last year to allow them to come apart easier. Well it seams to work as they pulled out easy.

needs to be done on the backside though as well to seal it but no doubt that will be helpful. grease will wash off probably. shit loads often wont though

i've actually done this on quite a few things in the past, silicon is the best thing ever, good thinking there as it'll atleast help
