Evening all, Slightly of topic from the Gti 6's but I currently have a 306 Hdi Estate but notice when loaded the rear suspension is very soft.

Any idea's what I can change to increase the payload without making it look like a monster truck?

Cheers Ed

torsion bars from a higher spec estate or a xsara vts if they are not 21mm.

If its a HDi you'll have 21mm bars and a 24mm ARB so better than a GTi.
Uprated torsion bars are around

not always, I checked the VIN of a HDI for someone earlier today and it came back as 20mm.

Raise the rear beam a little?

if you have a micrometer make sure you have estate rear tortion bars fitted, not standard 306 ones.

Cheers for you input guy's, I'll take away some of these comments and do some research.

It is a Hdi Meridian Estate.

Regards raising the rear beam, I didn't want a monster truck when unloaded.

From what I've seen most estates sit stupidly low at the back anyway.
Measure the sills front and back, the rear should be around 15mm higher

21mm bars are black, 20mm ones are red iirc.

The high spec estates came with 21mm bars and most of the late ones, but you know what pug are like, could whack any old beam on, could have been a friday you know LOL

Stick some Polyurethane foam bumpstops on the damper shafts, the progressive type, it'll lift the spring rate when fully loaded then.
