Evening chaps. Don't really post much on here but I've been a member for a while now because I was looking for a 6' a while back, when I had my little DTurbos, but decided to go down the BMW route, had a little E36 320i for a while which was a laugh but then I fancied returning to the world of french hatches...

So here I am:

Now the first job was to get rid of the stupid angel eye headlights in place of some original Ph1s, and this is how it stands at the minute:

Some basic specs, although I know it's been discussed on this forum before:

235bhp/400lb-ft, 2.2 16v HDI, 330d VNT Turbo, 330d Fuel pump, AMG injectors, X-power charge cooler setup, Mocal FMOC

To be honest it's really easy to drive, in fact the power isn't even an issue, my only issue is the extra hard suspension, but it's a small price!

The turbo kicks in at about 2k revs and gives quite smooth power up until 4500-4750ish, there's very little torque steer... although the turbo is slightly de-tuned at the moment as it has a sticking VNT so I don;t want to blow it up...

The 16v HDIs are nothing like the 8 valvers usually found in the pugs, they have a much wider power band and like to rev a lot more

It's no petrol but it doesn't half put a smile on my face!

Plans are: New 330d turbo, some proper ph1 fog lights, then just general tidying up around the car and engine bay... it needs a small amount of paintwork but nothing that can't be easily sorted... oh and some normally sized plates are a high priority

I'm planning on selling my beemer then using the proceeds to just make it mint.

EDIT: I'll get some videos of the power delivery up once I get the turbo sorted

From what I was told "Group A struts and Apex springs"... no idea what drop the springs are but it's a harder ride than my old DTurbo and that was down 60mm on GMAX shocks and springs:

Overdamped and undersprung then, strange as it may seem, stiffer springs may actually make the ride better.

What are you running now?

Will be something i'm looking to sort out in the future but it's not a major concern at the moment...

Kw v2s, mine are wound all the way down at roughly 75-80mm, wanted to go a tad lower, but obviously cant, so if i was you, make sure you get coilovers that can go down low.

Well mate once I get a new turbo in (or this one refurbed, if it's saveable) I'll have a drive down! You can hold me to that...

Engine bay shots:

I know it's not what you're used to on this site LOL , the fuel of the devil n' all that...

It's a bit untidy and needs a bit of work, some of the wiring was a rush job, as he explained to me when i was buying it, so that will be redone ASAP

But I've bought it as a project, albeit a nearly complete project, so it's not perfect... YET
