Hi All.

I'm having issues getting the '6 to start on a regular basis now. All electricals are fine, 2nd position allows me to work the lights etc., and battery is not at fault (been switched with the battery on the missus' motor).

When I try to start the car, I get a single loud 'click' from the engine bay. No turnover or anything.

I can get it to start by giving it a jump start though....

I've tried disconnecting/reconnecting the battery (and fought a nasty battle against the alarm + immob Dry ), and pressing the red reset button in the engine bay but nowt.

Any ideas? Key IR works to open the car about 75% of the time, so mabye a problem with the little black chip in the key? Lock/Unlock still doesn't help.

(*This was a problem mabye 4 weeks ago, but resolved with reset button after immob killed the car)

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along but that sounds like the starter solenoid.

Was almost roadkill last night. Electrics cut out completely round a bend on a 60 road Sad Came back on after 5 minutes.

Not sure if its the starter, since it almost always gets started with a jump.

Thanks for the help on this one guys Smile All sorted now. Had my dad help me have a look for any dodgy connections and we found one coming off the positive terminal where a bolt wasn't tightened enough.

Got this all tightened up and jobs a good 'un.

Cool
